Return to wellness: Seven quick fixes to feeling better

September 30, 2009 by Editor

The signals our bodies use to tell us we need to cleanse ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally are multifaceted and often mirror symptoms we associate with illness. If we heed these signs, we not only feel better quickly but also stave off poor health before it can start. These quick fixes for common ailments can get you started.

1. Applying pressure to the acupressure point between the thumb and forefinger can release blockages causing pain, tension, and fatigue. You can relieve a headache naturally by squeezing for 20 seconds and releasing for 10 seconds, without letting go, four times.

2. To breathe freely, irrigate your nasal passages with a neti pot and warm salt water. As you clear and soothe the sinuses, congestion associated with allergies or infection will gradually disappear.

3. Apple cider vinegar is a powerful purifying and detoxifying agent. Read more

Dr. Rob’s 12 minute meditation, September 22nd, 2009

September 22, 2009 by Dr. Rob

Dr. Rob’s 12 minute meditation:
I converse with loving thoughts of thee

I begin this day, as each and every day with the breath
Deep inward, bringing the beauty of life to each and every cell of the body
Feel the energy of thee, as you converse with me, with the mantra that creates me
The thoughts and the words, make you me, breathe in, slowly release through the mouth
Bring a smile to your face, as you feel the beauty move and surround thee
With the breath, words, and meditative music flowing in and out of thee
Surround yourself with the energy that you wish to be
Walking in the garden, sitting lotus, candle light flickering, tai chi
The unwanted thoughts will simply leave me as I focus on the positive mantra, the breath
Loving thoughts of thee, my conversation of this day
Namaste

Dr. Rob motivates us to be happy

February 2, 2009 by Dr. Rob

Good morning, this is Dr. rob, it’s another spectacular day in the universe.

Talk about being happy, that’s what we have to do.
Talk about being happy everyday, talk about why you are happy and why we should all be happy
in this life. But you have to talk about it. Somehow talking about it is the virus, the words, spread
them out and spread them about that’s what helps us all be … HAPPY!

We have to talk about the good things in this life! When we all talk about the good things in life, we
all want to be … yes you’re right … that’s it … HAPPY!!

Talk about it each day and let go of why we are NOT happy.

Then suddenly when we talk about being happy, we’re … you guessed it, HAPPY!!

Be a talker about why you’re happy and why we should all be happy. Enjoy your day and be, yes there it is, HAPPY!
Because when you think it, and you talk about it and you share it that’s what we all, happy.
We’re not waiting for something grandiose or marvelous in this life to be delivered to us. Instead we
know it’s right there – not in front of us but within us – everyday, every moment in our lives.

Love to all of you,
Dr. Rob

Let it flow, tears

December 10, 2008 by Editor

How wonderful it feels to give in and let tears flow when we are overwhelmed with emotions, whether we are happy or sad. Tears come from the soul, from our well of feelings rising from deep down. When we give in to the prickling behind our eyes and the lump in our throat to let teardrops fall from our eyes, we allow our feelings to surface so they can be set free.

Proud parents shed tears of pride in a child’s accomplishments, a baby’s first step, birthdays, and graduations. Long lost friends fall into each other’s arms, tears rolling down their cheeks when they Read more

At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities. -Jean Houston

Laughter as Medicine:
Laughter is the best medicine, a cliche to be sure, but a new study has shown that laughter yoga, a blend of playful laughter exercises coupled with gentle breathing and stretching, can significantly lower systolic and diastolic blood-pressure levels, as well as bring about significant reductions in the stress hormone cortisol.
