The Alchemical Nursery is proud to present the International Social Action Film Festival (ISAFF)! The fest will feature local and international films about social change. Some highlights include local works featuring Syracuse’s 40 Below and the Syracuse Peace Council, and War Dance, an Academy Award nominee and Sundance Film Festival winner about the power of music and dance amidst war in Uganda. The ISAFF has been featured in city’s around the world, including Los Angeles, Cario, Sydney and Berlin. Proceeds from this event will help the Alchemical Nursery Project to further develop our Permaculture Center and Regenerative Trades School, working for food security in Syracuse through perennial poly-culture landscapes. Location: Shaffer Art Building, Syracuse University main campus
Syracuse, NY – SUArt Galleries presents Napoleon on the Nile: Soldiers, Artists, and the Rediscovery of Egypt. This exhibition launches the cultural arts partnership between New York City’s Dahesh Museum of Art and Syracuse University. The partnership offers each institution heightened visibility, new audiences and the potential for dynamic collaborative programming. At the same time, the students, faculty and diverse communities within Syracuse will be introduced to a new way of looking at and thinking about art in the context of history, an approach that the Dahesh Museum has pioneered in its 14-year history. After the bustle of the holiday season, unwind and delight in the special exhibitions and events the Everson has to offer this month.
Marie Antoinette: Styling the 18th-Century Superstar and Warhol Presents will be on view only until January 11, so don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy these spectacular exhibitions. Also, be sure to attend the live melodic entertainment of the Civic Morning Musicals on January 21 and 28.
Children will explore and create original works of art through different forms of media in Mix It Up! art classes. Register now for two energetic sessions of art.

Between internationally acclaimed fashion designer Jeffrey Mayer and iconic pop artist Andy Warhol, you simply cannot afford to miss these two inspiring exhibitions on view at the Everson.
Mix it Up! Youth Art Classes (Ages 4-12), 10.30am – Noon, Art Zone (lower level)
Session I: January 17, 24, 31, February 7
Session II: February 21, 28, March 7, 14
Members: $50 / session, $95 both sessions
Non-members: $60 / session, $115 both sessions
Join us for an energizing afternoon of art! Projects will offer young artists the opportunity to experiment in a variety of media. Students will explore galleries to find paintings, sculptures and ceramics that will offer inspiration for creating original works of art.
