A book recommendation: You can’t send a Duck to Eagle School, by Mac Anderson. Absolutely great book for business owners, managers and anyone else in life. Here are 10 gems of info I pulled from the book.

#1 Survey of 1 million people were taken who thought they had the best boss. The most popular answer was.. Boss was willing to listen to what they had to say. Hello….Are you listening????

#2 Keep it simple. Red Auerbach and Vince Lombardi, 2 of the all time most famous coaches, only has 3-7 plays, but practiced and practiced them to perfection. Simple enough?

#3 Southwest Air CEO was asked HOW he gets such nice employees. His answer was that he hires people with nice, positive qualities. You can’t teach people enthusiasm, motivation and to smile. It makes all the difference in the world.
Seems so simplistic, yet it makes perfect sense!

#4 Attitude is everything. We all have down days and tough stuff. Just deal with it and BOUNCE BACK. Everyone out there has their own cross to bear. Some handle it better than others. Something worth remembering, and working on.

#5 Quote from Socrates.. “Be in reality what we appear to be.” When you have INTEGRITY, your WORDS and DEEDS match up and align.

#6 Turn up the FUN-O-METER. Of course this is our favorite at Smile-Therapy. We recommend you get some more Willy Wonka type stuff into your life

#7 Brian Urlacher.. multi pro bowler and NFL player of the year in 05. Wants to be remembered as a great TEAMMATE, who played hard, loved the game and didn’t talk of self. Just praised teammates. A lesson in Selflessness and Humility. I love lunch pail guys like him!

#8 Concentrate on 1 or 2 things. The cat chasing 2 mice goes hungry. Focus and perfect 1-2 things. Less is more. Become a specialist, that people remember.

#9 Prepare for each play, and know what to do if and when it comes your way. Get excited, and want it to come your way. Boy scouts motto. Be prepared. Be like Michael Jordan and WANT that last shot.

#10 People Crave recognition.. can you imagine a football player running back a kick 98 yards for a touchdown and not a sound is made. Kind of wrecks the fun doesn’t it? Remember this in all aspects in life. Your kids, your significant other, your friends, your EMPLOYEES. Give people more Recognition. A lot of people, are doing many good things. LET THEM KNOW.

What a Great book. There are many more lessons in here. Excellent idea as a present for someone. Quick read too.
Enjoy!

Good morning to all and a spectacular Saturday. Taking a little longer to awaken this morning and I am in need of a power nap (after work it will come).

On my drive to work this morning I was listening to the audio book (Automobile University) “Blink” by Malcolm Caldwell. I recently read “Outliers” by the same author and found the book to be very insightful regarding some of the explanations for peoples success and failure. We do measure many things in our lives as a success or a failure. The explanation is not so simple as it may seem, as to why some have success and others don’t.

In Blink, one of the stories Malcolm shares is about a car salesman, suggesting that we never prejudge people (we shouldn’t even prejudge auto sales people). As many of us have heard, the clothes and the faces may not tell the whole story. By simply training ourselves to take the time to listen and learn we can give all people the positive and kind energy each and every one of us desires and ultimately deserves.

Always put on a good face to all and turn the bad attitude into a good one. Yes, by simply changing our face. The movement of our muscles and our skin with a smile sends the positive energy to the cells of the body that stimulates happy hormones and joyous neurotransmitters. Circulating in our body these biochemical’s bind to cells throughout the body and create a happy and joyous attitude. Yes, the smile converts us to a happy and joyous person. Sad face, sad day and happy face, happy day. Amazing, and it’s as simple as that.

How can life be this easy, just let go of negative thoughts and feelings and then create happy ones? Now put on a happy face, (heard that before) and go out and have a great and happy day.

Love to all and read (or listen) to positive and uplifting stories each and every day!

Love to all,

Dr. Rob

Hatred can be irrational, and it has a greater impact on the individual who hates than the person or object being hated. Yet overcoming hatred is difficult because hatred reinforces itself and causes greater enmity to come into being. The most powerful tool one can use to combat hatred is love. Deciding to love what you hate, whether this is a person, situation, or a part of yourself, can create a profound change in your feelings and your experience. There is little room for anger, dislike, bitterness, or resentment when you are busy loving what you hate. The practice of loving what you hate can transform and shift your emotions from hatred to love, because there is no room for hatred in a space occupied by love.

Granted, it is difficult to forgo judging someone, love your enemy, and seek the good in situations that seem orchestrated to cause you pain or anger. But in deciding to love what you hate, you become one less person adding negativity to the universe. On a simple level, loving what you hate can help you enjoy your life more. On a more complex level, loving what you hate sets you free because you disengage yourself from the hatred that can weigh down the soul. Responding with love to people radiating hatred transmutes their negative energy. You also empower yourself by not letting their negativity enter your personal space. Rather than lowering yourself to the level of their hatred, you give the other person an opportunity to rise above their feelings and meet you on the field of love.

Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Loving what you hate sends a positive, beautiful energy to people while spreading peace and harmony throughout the planet. Instead of reinforcing hatred, you become an advocate for love. Hatred responds to hate by causing anguish. But hatred responds to love by transforming into blissful peace.

10 Things Science Says Will Make You Happy:
In the last few years, psychologists and researchers have been digging up hard data on a question previously left to philosophers: What makes us happy? Researchers like the father-son team Ed Diener and Robert Biswas-Diener, Stanford psychologist Sonja Lyubomirsky, and ethicist Stephen Post have studied people all over the world to find out how things like money, attitude, culture, memory, health, altruism, and our day-to-day habits affect our well-being. The emerging field of positive psychology is bursting with new findings that suggest your actions can have a significant effect on your happiness and satisfaction with life. Here are 10 scientifically proven strategies for getting happy. 1. Savor everyday moments 2. Avoid comparisons [Read more]

Please join the our group Conscious Creators at this fun workshop on Wednesday, October 8th at 7pm at the DeWitt Library in the Shoppingtown Mall. We will provide poster board, glue, and lots of magazines (from which to cut out pictures of things we want and phrases that are meaningful) in order for everyone present to create a Dream Board to take home.

My husband and I have Dream Boards in our office. Mine has lots of travel pics and some things I want, and his has lots of cars and many other things and cool phrases. Both of us also have pics of our wedding rings (well, VERY similar – eerily so) that we put up on the Dream Board before the other one bought the rings (and neither of us had seen the other’s pics before we bought them!!) Did that make sense? It’s a real-life story of how what you put up on your Dream Board can indeed become reality.

It’ll be a fun, relaxing evening of creativity and networking with positive, caring people and we’d love to see you there! Please give me a call (315.751.5510) if you plan to attend so we can bring enough supplies. Thanks, and have a spectacular week!
On a beautiful day in August, 2008, at the Ben and Sally Taylor concert in Skaneateles, NY, I met a friend. Although I had just met Father Charles for the first time, I knew right away the connection we had was positive and eternal. We shared, in the few minutes that we spoke together, about the beauty of life and the sharing of positive energy to all. That the nature of the universe and its energy has created everything, and is most wonderful and amazing. All things in the universe are a gift from GOD. And our lives on this earth are momentary and the energy within us is eternal.

The interpretation of things as good or bad in life, which we all experience from time to time, are in fact the wonderful gifts from GOD. These experiences in the universe are there to give us opportunities to grow, learn and express life. These are all the many amazing things we jump to share with all. I have learned in my life, that opening up to all in a positive and loving way brings beauty and harmony to the universe and makes our day even more fantastic.

Father Charles helped me in seeing this beauty in the moment, which is all it takes. The moments in life, all of our lives, are the gifts from the universe. See them as such and each and every breath we take brings us harmony and joy. When you send loving and beautiful energy to all, this is what the universe sends back. Be sure to share a positive moment with everyone in your life, even those that you have perceived as negative.
God bless,
Dr rob

Work, the energy transferred by a force, the place of employment.
The utilization of manual, physical and mental energy for the good of others, ourselves and the duties needed to be rewarded by money.
Money is one fruit of our labor which allows us to grow and bring more into our lives.
To buy things and to have more. Some see and feel this as a means of feeling better.

Remember to create work as play and not to look at it as a drudgery.
The negative nature of work is what we alone make of it.
Allow the power of the energy of the universe to come into your life now and make it positive.

Put a smile on your face and embrace the people and the day.
Make it today, not tomorrow and be sure to let go of yesterday.
Make life and love the joy of your work.
The mind makes work the negative and it alone creates the positives for your existence.

So create your positives and see the attractive nature of the positive power of the mind and the universe.
Allow your work day to be the enjoyable hobby you seek.
Focus on the good nature of the day and the people you spend each day with at work.
Allow the positive and beauty to be seen in all of your daily life events.

Love to all and enjoy your work day

Dr. Rob

Remember the words of don Miguel Ruiz, The Toltec Master:

“Don’t take anything personally
Always do your best
Be impeccable with your word
Don’t make assumptions”

Dr Kiltz wants to welcome everyone to view the Food for Thought TV series on WCNY (channel 12) this Friday at 12:30 PM and again at 10PM. He invites you to join in the upcoming segment with Chris Xavier and George Kilpatrick.

On Food for Thought this July 4th Dr. Robert Kiltz, A.K.A. Dr. Rob, talks about how the art of cooking and the positive intentions of the day can be a growth and uplifting event for us all. On the TV show he describes how he takes 15-30 minutes first thing each morning to create the day with a positive intention and attitude. By aligning ourselves with those positive thoughts and ideas for the day, we are more likely to see a brighter and fulfilling day. Dr. Rob invites all of us to create a similar environment which would be an uplifting and positive experience. This allows us to create our positive day and remember that each of us has a choice of focusing on a positive or negative attitude.

Dr. Rob also discusses, on Food for Thought, how a response can be positive and reflective or it can be reactive and negative. So for each day we should focus and work on creating our beautiful environment. Remember, it only takes a few moments to focus on the positive and see the beauty of life. Besides rambling on about the brain and positive thinking, Dr. Rob also spent some time cooking up a great recipe with grilled salmon, a fantastic Caesar salad and sautéed asparagus. So remember to enjoy the day and enjoy the food of life!

Don’t forget to tune in to Food for Thought on WCNY TV (channel 12) Friday July 4th at 12:30PM or, if you’re busy with a family barbecue watch the repeat airing later in the evening while you are relaxing from the day’s events at 10PM.
