My Defining Moment

February 9, 2010 by Editor

I’ve had my life figured out. I’ve had it figured out several times. Each time, life, has made plans I hadn’t counted on.

About seven years ago, I thought I finally had it all together. Again, life intervened. I was engaged, to be married, to my soul mate, my life partner and my best friend. We had plans; lots of plans. One of those plans was for me to quit my full time job and do what I’ve wanted to do – speak, train and coach! But, then life stepped in. Ten weeks before our marriage, my darling Keefe was taken from me in an auto accident involving bad weather and black ice.

My personal life was turned upside down, as was my financial life. With a mortgage and a child in college, quitting my full time job was no longer a viable choice. I’m not generally the kind to give up. In fact, when confronted by resistance, I often dig in my heels and get quite stubborn. However, in this case, I came close, more than once, to giving up; my dream of my own career and even my dream of a happy future. Fortunately, I have friends and loved ones who didn’t see this as acceptable. With their encouragement and support, I started to see choices. There were really two main choices. I could choose to be miserable (perhaps the easy way out and many would not have blamed me). Or, I could take the gifts of a great and empowering relationship and create a life. Perhaps, it won’t be the life I’d initially planned but it can still be the life that I choose to make it. It is this choice that I have now embarked on. To do otherwise, would most of all let myself down but also it would not honor the faith and belief that my beloved Keefe, my cheerleader and partner, had in me. Read more

Being aware of your own thoughts

September 15, 2009 by Editor

Few people enjoy the company of individuals whose attitudes are persistently negative. Yet many of us tolerate the critical chatter that can originate within our own minds. Since we are so used to the stream of self-limiting, critical consciousness that winds its way through our thoughts, we are often unaware of the impact these musings have on our lives. It is only when we become aware of the power of such thoughts that we can divest ourselves of them and fill the emptiness they leave with loving, peaceful affirmations. Many people, upon paying careful attention to their thinking patterns, are surprised at the negativity they find there. But when we take notice of involuntary thoughts in a nonjudgmental way, we initiate a healing process that will eventually allow us to replace intimidating and upsetting self-talk with positive, empowering thoughts. “Thank you,” always the first words of the day

August 13, 2009 by Dr. Rob

Hello and Good Morning, it’s Dr. Rob, another spectacular day in the Universe
My first words of the day are always, “Thank you for this awesome and amazing day”
It’s the gratitude that each of us gives to the day, that creates the day because everything is created within our minds
I always come back to thoughts are things, a simple, simple concept
Your thoughts create everything in your life and your Universe
For you are the center of your universe, and you create your universe each and every day
Each and everyday is a new day to create, so why not choose it to be another amazing, beautiful and awesome day
Words from thought, thoughts to language, this is what it’s all about
We need to focus our thoughts on the gratitude of the day, first thing in the day, and combine it with simple meditation
Create that positive, thought, intention, affirmation of the day, along with focused breathing

Video: Say it will be a great day! – Dr. Rob Kiltz

August 11, 2009 by Dr. Rob

Dr. Rob shares some thoughts this morning outside his CNY Healing Arts Center in Syracuse, NY. He talks about the concept that if you say it will be a great day… then it will!!

Video transcription:

Hello and good morning. A spectacular day in the universe. Start the day with your positive thoughts each day.  When you get up and you say I’m tired, oh it’s going to be a challenging hard day that’s exactly what it becomes. The key to life is to create  these positive thoughts at the beginning of the day, to create it as a positive awesome amazing day. Because everything is strictly what you think it is and when someone comes to you with something in which you consider nasty or challenging and you say thank you for sharing and I love you. It changes it and creates a positive gift to you to help you grow and help you share love. And remember when you say it’s going to be a great day that is what it will become.  When you say it’s going to be a hard day that’s what it will be. And I use the words challenging and great for me to grow and to learn to share my love  to each and every person today. And so when you do that at the beginning of the day remember you wake up and you start your day with the positive thoughts , you create them. Write them on a mirror, write them down. Remember to read something positive at the beginning of the day. Do that 12 minutes of meditation. It really changes you because you are God, you are the energy of the universe and when you share that divinity with yourself  and with everyone else that’s were the beauty of life comes. Everyday share love, joy and kindness. God bless, have a spectacular day. Dr. Rob

Video: Thought match – Dr. Robert Kiltz

June 18, 2009 by Dr. Rob

Dr. Rob shares his daily intention today, Thought match. He shares encouraging, positive thoughts for the day in the video he created below. Don’t forget the 12 minute meditation practice each and every day. Here is today’s meditation.

Video Transcription:

Good morning to all and another spectacular day in the universe
Thought match, my intention of the day
Rolling and rolling, 50,000 thoughts a day
Not always positive nor flowing my way
Thoughts usually of not what I want in my day
I cant, I won’t, I don’t know how
Or I will simply try to find a way
Not matching my life dreams is the challenge today
But by simply thinking I can and I will, is a powerful way
It is here in my heart and bountiful energy is what I say
To see and feel it as here in the now is the trick of the day
Energy of life, matching positive thought, is a life creating way
Love to all,
Dr. Rob

Quote of the day by Lao-tzu:
“At the center of your being you have the answer: You know who you are and you know what you want”

Meditation for today: Constructing my beautiful life

June 12, 2009 by Dr. Rob

12 minute meditation: “Constructing my beautiful life
As I start the day, focusing on the breath
Simply sitting or walking in the garden, or in my house
I control and create my life through the thoughts in my head
With meditation I focus on the thought of my day
A mantra, which moves the other thoughts out
Constructing my beautiful life, my focus today
Come back to the breath and feel the energy flow
The light filling each and every cell of my body
Meditative music in the background
Light movements of my arms and hands to my chest
Slow walking if movement is the intention
Breathing in and smiling out, do this to 10
As I construct my life I see and feel love to all and me
The light and love of the Universe enlightening my chest…
My head, my hands and my feet
Every cell in my body, creating harmony and love and constructing my beautiful life
Through thought and positive words I create this life
I let go of the negative stuff as I focus on the mantra and the breath, walking slowly, 12 minutes each day

Love each day!
Dr. Rob

A simple act: Sharing

May 20, 2009 by Claire Affleck

Sharing is one of the most valuable things we can do as humans and yet for many of us, it is terribly difficult. Learning to share our feelings, thoughts, emotions, time, energy, material goods, and love is so important.

Young children share their feelings without any regard.  If they are in need of food or attention they make it openly known.  Why is it that as we grow older we are more inhibited about sharing?  When is it exactly that we develop a sense of “Oh gosh, if I say this, someone is going to think this of me”, “What if I express my thoughts about something and they don’t agree?”, or “What if I share my feelings towards someone and they don’t feel the same way?”  All of these negative ideas prevent us from sharing.

First of all, we have no control over what anyone else is going to think, say, or feel.  So go ahead and overtly express yourself and you’ll find that more often than not you will be received positively!  Secondly, think of all that you’re missing by not sharing!  The only way to engage with others is to be open to others by sharing yourself.   We should never assume what someone else might think, say or do if we share our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.  The only way to find out is to share ours and have them share theirs.

I say to all adults that have developed inhibitions about sharing to start acting more like their inner child! Do not worry or make assumptions about what others will think.  Worry and assuming will only create negativity and keep you closed off from engaging with others.  Everyone’s mission is now to bring out that inner child and share a smile, a hug, love, feelings, thoughts, and emotions today and every day!
