My thoughts and your thoughts #144

May 12, 2009 by TA Smith

I love quotes. I love them because they make me think. What does the quoter mean? Why did he/she write this? Is there a message to get through to the reader/the world? What did YOU initially think when you read it?

Here goes blog quote #144….

“She looks as if butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth.”
-Swift, Polite Conversation-

I got a good chuckle out of this one. Never heard of a “cold look” put in these terms.

Quick question…. When dealing with a customer, a sales clerk, someone your calling on in business, a receptionist, the grocery stork check out person, or ANYONE.. would you rather be dealing with a warm, friendly, smiling person? Or, someone with a cold, sour, miserable attitude? Read more

There is no before or after

(Inspired by a teen that is changing the world, one person at a time!)

Imagine a life where you grow up realizing that dreams are possible, creativity is honored and one’s opinion matter to the adults in the world of teens.

Imagine a school where young people are committed to creating unity in their school, recognizing individual differences as one’s uniqueness, not something to be ridiculed.

Imagine a teen that feels confident enough to express his/her viewpoint without concern for being judged, who invites others to share their opinion and listens openly to their views.

Imagine a world where young people see the possibilities of a world united and connected; where experiences demonstrate the power of one and the power of 1 + 1 = 11~individuals joining forces to create a larger impact-a ripple that expands beyond this moment in time. Read more

My thoughts and your thoughts #108

I love quotes. I love them because they make me think. What does the quoter mean? Why did he/she write this? Is there a message to get through to the reader/the world? What did YOU initially think when you read it?

Here goes blog quote #108….

“The darn trouble with cleaning the house is, it gets dirty the next day anyway, so skip a week if you have to. The children are the most important thing.”
- Barbara Bush-

There! All you Clean Freaks.. TAKE THAT!

I believe Barbara’s message is::: spend more time with your loved ones and less time worrying about how clean the windows are and the mild dirt under the ottoman. Read more

Monkey see monkey do

February 26, 2009 by Dr. Rob

A very good morning, good morning, good morning to the Universe and another spectacular day today!

Monkey see monkey do:
Monkey see monkey do has been around since the beginning of time. What we see and hear, our brain takes in. You may think it’s strictly entertainment to watch negative stories on TV and in movies, to read drama with mean and scary plots and we just say it’s strictly entertainment in our lives, but it does have an effect on our brains that we do not realize each and every moment of our lives. How these words, these stories, and these events unfold in our brain is the trick of the universe. All of these things, yes all of these things, become embedded in our hard drive in subtle ways that you and I have less control over than we think.

Monkey see monkey do, the power of everything in the universe to learn to emulate to grow to change, this is what the brain has given us. If you focus on all positive things and all stories are uplifting and share goodness in life, then this is what the brain will give back and how it will continue to grow. Monkey see monkey do, to you and to me.

Having dinner with a group of friends recently someone was telling me about how they love watching Judge Judy while ironing and working around the house, just as background music this background stuff. Read more
