Love and Romance
January 27, 2010 by Sheila Applegate
This is the time of year, as Valentine’s Day approaches, when our attention turns to Romance. Human beings complicate love, as we attempt to taste the truth of this powerful emotion while at the same time constructing rules to protect ourselves from its passion. Our dance with Romantic love is the craziest of all.
We humans, as a race, have created so many rules and structures around the primary relationship of romantic love, trying to dance in its vibration without actually immersing ourselves in its power. We construct rules of behavior around these relationships to create an illusion of safety, pretending we are opening our hearts to true love’s passion while remaining frozen and motionless behind our screen of fear. The truth is we must first open our hearts, and then passion will fill us in all our relationships. Read more
Growing Pains of the Heart
January 18, 2010 by Claire Affleck

Heartache and heart break. Most of us view these as negatives. The trick is, of course, to see the positive side.
A quote from Rita Mae Brown helped me to see the positive side of feeling sorrow, anger, grief, and heart break. She stated that, “Sorrow is how we learn to love. Your heart isn’t breaking. It hurts because it’s getting larger. The larger it gets the more love it holds.”
Instead of feeling as though your heart is breaking, think of it as growing, stretching, and becoming more loving. When you are filled to the brink with sadness, at your lowest low, think of your highest high and of your heart bursting with joy. If you can feel immense sadness, then you can also feel the opposite; immense happiness. And you will reach that point of joy again, one step at a time.
The first step to attaining that state of blissfulness is to let your aching heart love. Read more
Peace Within
January 18, 2010 by Christine Briel

A relative of mine shared the quote below, I hope you enjoy it and take the words to heart!
~~~
May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.
May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content with yourself just the way you are.
Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
Best Friends: A Warm Refuge
December 14, 2009 by Editor
By the time we reach adulthood, many of us have had the good fortune to have at least one best friend. If we have moved around or changed our life situation repeatedly, we may be lucky enough to have had several. The best friend relationship is often our earliest intimate peer relationship, and it can be a source of great warmth and connection throughout our lives. The details of best friendship change as we grow up and grow older, but the heart of it remains the same. Our best friends are a warm refuge in which we feel free to be fully ourselves, to share our deepest secrets, to rest when we are tired, to celebrate when we are happy, a place in which we feel utterly welcome to give and receive that most precious of all gifts, love. Dr. Rob On My Mind, November 24th, 2009
Dr. Rob on my mind;
The challenges in life, not feeling great or the struggles we fight. This is the challenge for each of us, day in and day out. But this is simply just a thought of what I think it all is. The hardships of life, are not hard, but simply opportunities for growth and development. Again, that is if I think it is. If I focus on the difficulties, and unfairness of an experience, my mind will create the molecules and vibration, the energy that attracts more difficulties and unfairness. This is the self fulfilling prophecy of life. As I come back to the joy and gifts of each and every experience, and meditate on the beauty that it brings to me, I am now the creator of all things, I choose to make them all good, and none bad. If you choose to see all things as good, gifts on the journey, they will help you grow and create, and see the beauty of life. We are thoughts and words, visions and fantasy. This is where our reality comes in to play. Our true fear is that of death, and our instinctual struggles are always in the protection mode. For life is intimately connected to death, for each and every cell in the universe is a constantly changing entity. Energy is eternal, moving at light speed forward, and the physical self is the temporary vessel, container of you, the energy. Billions of cells are dying each and every day within each of us, yet we still exist. Dance and play, learn and live, love and most importantly, forgive all, especially thy self. With the practice of positive thoughts, you are the creator of your most amazing dance, your life. We are all one as we speak our words, and share the goodness, in all things of life.
Enjoy this and every day,
Love,
Dr. Rob
Dr. Rob’s 12 Minute Meditation, November 18th, 2009
November 18, 2009 by Dr. Rob
Dr. Rob’s 12 minute meditation;
Love the train of thought
I start each and every day with the thought
And with a breath in, slow and easy, this energizes me
In slow and easy with the nose, hold and feel the train moving in me
All of the light and energy of the Universe, all connected I see
Feel the light stop and touch each cell on the way
Bright and a smile as you let the breath move out of you
This energy touches every entity in the Universe
The power of connections and you are the gift of the universe
In one, smile out two
In one, smile out two
The light brightens up each cell in you
And the healing is all within me and you
This practice I do each day
Allowing the unwanted thought to come and let it go
Back to the breath, the mantra, love the train of thought
God bless to all and thee
