Transitions Lifestyle System
August 14, 2009 by CindyCifaratta

I wanted to write about my personal experience with the Transitions Lifestyle System. You have seen a lot of advertising for the classes over the past 6 months and I want to try and explain this program and how it can change your life like it changed mine.
I was one of those people who has always worked out at least a couple times a week and ate healthy ( most of the time so I thought) and took vitamins. Well in trying to get pregnant 7 years ago, having 2 miscarriages before finally getting pregnant, my body went on quite the roller coaster ride. When I gave birth to my son I was the heaviest I have ever been. It took me 3 years to lose 35 lbs, and I just couldn’t lose the last 20 pounds no matter what I did.
Then I was introduced to the Transitions Lifestyle System which seemed to be what I needed, so I decided to take the 12 week class, I had nothing to lose at this point. I was shocked in the 12 week class I dropped those last 20 lbs , and I went down 3 sizes. Then last year I went through the program again as an assistant and I only lost 3 more lbs but I went down 2 more sizes. I never dreamed I’d be back to the size I was 10 years ago. The program teaches how to eat a Low Glycemic Diet which by doing so you lose your body fat not muscle. I have also been off my high blood pressure medicine for 5 months now and I credit it to proper diet, exercise and supplements.
So I wanted to let you know I am teaching these classes now because I believe that we all need to understand how sugar affects ALL aspects of our lives. It has changed my life and my family’s, we are all healthier than we have ever been and we feel great and definitely have more energy. I want to help other people feel the same, whether you are trying to get pregnant or can’t loose the baby weight or just want to look and feel better. So please call or e-mail me for more information. We will be starting classes after Labor day so if you are interested please let me know. I need to have at least 6-8 people per class, we meet once a week for about 1 hour to 1 ½ hours for 12 weeks. The cost is $299 for the 12 weeks and I will be glad to discuss what that includes. We will have an initial Overview Class that is purely informational and costs nothing to attend. It will be held Saturday, August 29th, 2009 at 12:00pm (noon) in the reception area at CNY Fertility Center, Syracuse, NY.

Steps
- Plan to spend 20-30 minutes at a time three days each week. Space out the days to allow for recovery time between sessions. Anything more goes beyond fitness and into running for other purposes – something you may find yourself doing if bitten by the running bug. Read more

As I’ve written before, gratitude is one of the healthiest approaches to life. I want to continue that theme a little longer and tell you about some research that has been done on gratitude and its positive effects. This is an area that has some of the best demonstrated effects in the realm of positive psychology.
The Gratitude Exercise
But let’s begin with the end. Here’s a simple practice that shouldn’t take more than ten minutes or so a day to complete that has scientifically been shown to improve the quality of life for those who do it… Read more
Blessing our bodies
January 26, 2009 by Editor

As the living vehicles for our spirits, our bodies deserve loving attention and care. We can positively affect our health, prevent illness, and heal injuries by regularly focusing our mental and spiritual energy on the workings of our bodies. This can be done by performing a body scan on yourself.
Begin by lying in a comfortable position and taking three deep cleansing breaths. Imagine, if you will, a sunbeam entering the top of your head. Feel this light slowly scanning each part of your internal body. Allow it to scan every cell in your body and keep breathing. Every time you exhale, blow out negative energy you may feel. Notice any changes in your body. Sensations may vary from person to person. You may feel a shift Read more
30 days to Health

9. Before going to bed, write down 1 – 3 things that you are grateful for.
10. Look under your sink and discard all of your commercial household cleaners, e.g., Windex, AJAX, Mr Clean, Comet, Scrubbing Bubbles, Lysol, etc., and replace them with Thieves Household Cleaner from Young Living, Baking soda and White Distilled Vinegar. Research shows that the synthetic chemicals store themselves in our fat cells, which disrupt our metabolic process, keeping us from losing weight. Watch your overall health and weight improve!
11. Instead of javas all day, drink purified water (get a PUR filter if you don’t already have one). Read more
Good news for chocolate lovers!
December 23, 2008 by Heather Neely

Just in time for the holidays, some good news that you can use. Recent studies have found that dark chocolate is actually good for you! Dark chocolate falls into the category of a “functional food”, which is a food that provides a benefit to you beyond just nutrition. In the case of dark chocolate, it contains flavanoids, which have been shown to help reduce the risk of heart disease. Not only that, but dark chocolate also contains antioxidants and polyphenols. Antioxidants are found in various fruits, vegetables, green tea and red wine, which help with heart health. However, dark chocolate has more antioxidants than both green tea and red wine. Polyphenols are excellent for boosting serotonin in the brain, which produces a feel-good sensation in the brain. Read more

At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities. -Jean Houston
Laughter as Medicine:
Laughter is the best medicine, a cliche to be sure, but a new study has shown that laughter yoga, a blend of playful laughter exercises coupled with gentle breathing and stretching, can significantly lower systolic and diastolic blood-pressure levels, as well as bring about significant reductions in the stress hormone cortisol.
