Denise Kelly’s Classroom Intention, January 2010
February 18, 2010 by Denise Kelly
Below is January’s Intention for my 2nd grade classroom. We are now into the 2nd year of doing weekly/monthly intentions with the students in my classroom. We sometimes base it on one of Dr. Kiltz’s Intentions and other times create our own. Visit my Bio to read about how we began the Classroom Intention.
I WILL CREATE MY OWN HAPPINESS!
A beautiful day awakens me.
My intentions this day; I create my own happiness!
A simple thought of the day ahead and the happiness to be had.
I create my world! I create my happiness inside!
A smile will start my day and create the happiness for myself and all.
A thought I see, and create all that be.
I will create my own happiness this day!!!

I WILL GIVE MY BEST!
BEST!
That is what I give!
This I know will make a great life!
A great life for me and for you!
To give my best, that is what I want!
To always have a smile and a kind heart.
This is what “I will give my best” means to me!

It’s up to me to make this world a better place to live!
It’s all inside of me! The good choices I make are up to me.
I can help my family and friends by sharing my positive thoughts, words and attitudes.
Everyone has their own special way to change their thoughts.
We all have happy thoughts! Now, it’s important to share it all forward. This is the key to a better life for all!
If we believe in our positive thoughts our world will be a better place!
IT’S UP TO ME!!!!

I MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
I! Me! I make a difference!
I know I make a difference to me, my family and my community!
We are all different but we make a difference in our own special way!
On the bus we can make a difference by being quiet. This will help us be safe.
I can make a difference to my grandma by helping her cook. This makes us both feel better on the inside.
When I help my teachers, friends, family, and neighbors, I am making a difference!
When I smile at people, I make the world a better place to live!
I know I make a difference and so do you!

I WILL FOCUS ON THE POSITIVES –NOT THE NEGATIVES OF LIFE!!!!
Oh, the life we will have when everyone focuses on the positive!
When it’s cloudy, I will see sunshine!
I will keep the negatives to myself!
I will think about the good, even when it’s tough!
I will look to the positive side to get ahead in life.
If we change our thoughts, we can change our feelings
Looking at the positive will help me to never give up on farming.
I will practice saying all positive words!
Positive words are the way to go!

I WILL NOT GIVE UP! I WILL PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!
Today I wake up and I just don’t feel like doing anything.
I have a choice I can give up or keep at it.
I choose to practice, practice, practice!
I will not give up!
I know if I practice it will get easier!
I will not give up on homework, reading, math, racing, science, baseball or most importantly me!
I will practice until I become the artist I want to be!
I WILL NOT GIVE UP ON ANYTHING!!!!

I HAVE THE I CAN DO IT ATTITUDE!
When I get out of bed, I decide the kind of attitude I am going to have.
Will I decide to have the I can do it attitude or will I decide to have the I can’t do it attitude?
The I can do it attitude makes me feel so good inside!
The I can do it attitude makes me believe I can do anything!
It makes me believe I can get a PMP ticket!
It makes me believe I can make my own clubhouse!
It makes me believe I can read, do math and write a story!
It makes me think of my dad and grandpa; they really believe I can do anything!
The I can do it attitude makes me feel like I can help others believe they can do it, too!
Most of all the I can do it attitude makes me believe in myself!
And it makes me feel warm and happy because
I KNOW I CAN DO IT!

June 22, 2009 by Dr. Rob
In June 2009, Dr. Rob Kiltz met with Mrs. Kelly’s second grade classroom for the last time this year. He has been working with them all year on showing them how to create daily intentions, taking their goals and dreams and creating a vision board as well as living a more positive life. On this last visit he gifted each one of the children with Mary Humphrey’s book Kids’ Yoga Book of Feelings and they shared conversation about Sunshine and Rainbows. Listen to the audio below of Dr. Rob and Mrs. Kelly’s classroom.
