Couples Candlelight Workshop

November 25, 2008 by Dr. Rob

Candlelight and soft music set an intimate mood for this two-hour Couples Workshop.  Couples will be led through a relaxing sequence of breathing, gentle stretching, meditation, and massage. Throughout the class, couples assist their partners with stretching and standing poses, and take turns giving and receiving massage. Class closes with a gentle neck, face, and head massage, just before a restful Savasana.

Please join us for an evening of sharing and connecting through Yoga and massage.  No prior Yoga experience is necessary. This is a great opportunity to take a break, as a couple, and make it a date night!

Nutrition advice for everyone

November 17, 2008 by Heather Neely

In today’s society, you can find information about nutrition in just about any place that you look.  Books, magazines, TV shows, the internet … all offer nutrition advice, but with the science of nutrition changing daily, what information should you trust?

When eating for good health, a dietitian will always offer two tips that will never go out of style:  Eat breakfast and fill up on fiber!

  1. Eat Breakfast:  Breakfast is your first meal after fasting throughout the night.  It provides your body with the fuel it needs to continue with your day.  Eating breakfast has been shown to improve attitude, work and school performance, promote a healthy weight, rev up metabolism and also lower your risk Read more

Fitting pasta into your diet (recipe included)

November 11, 2008 by Heather Neely

Not only that, but regular “white” pasta does not contain fiber or whole grains.

Fear not, several new varieties of pasta have been hitting the supermarket shelves in recent years. Dreamfields makes pasta that contains a unique fiber and protein blend to help reduce the amount of Read more

Eating nutritiously for you and your baby

November 5, 2008 by Heather Neely

As you may know, a healthy diet during your pregnancy is one of the greatest gifts that you can give your growing baby. During the 9 months that you are pregnant, your baby is relying on you 100% for all of his nutrient needs. Making sure that you are eating the best foods that you can will help your baby to develop both physically and intellectually.

Although you are carrying an extra life now, you are not technically “eating for two”. In fact, during the first trimester, your calorie needs are not any different from before you were pregnant. Once you hit 12 weeks, Read more

    Fibromyalgia dietary recommendations

November 4, 2008 by Donald Clarke

First and foremost Fibromyalgia is not as understood as some conditions. The triggers and or causes of this condition remains somewhat a mystery. What may cause symptoms in one person may not be the same for another. The best approach to dietary recommendations is that diets should be individualized.

A good place to start is by eliminating specific foods for a period of 10 days to determine  if these specific foods play a role in symptoms. Start with the wheat, dairy, sugar. Read more

    Eating fish during pregnancy

October 29, 2008 by Heather Neely

    Is this risky or beneficial?
