Balancing Energy:

I’ve observed something interesting in the relationship between horses and riders.  Horses and riders create harmonious partnerships; they tend to balance one another out.  Riders that have very active, energized personalities do very well on calm, relaxed horses.  The relaxed horse needs an energized rider to get them motivated!  Riders that are very calm and relaxed themselves do well on highly energetic horses because the calm rider tends to relax the energized horse.

Balance.  The different personality types balance one another so that horse and rider are in harmony. I’ve also observed this same balance in humans.  When you’re feeling down or unmotivated, you seek out those people in your life that will energize and lift your spirits up.  When you have a hundred things happening at once in your life, you seek those that will help calm and relax you.  We all balance each other in life.  Read more

For many, life is a hodgepodge of never-ending commitments. Yet few of us can be truly healthy or happy without regular periods of downtime. While there is nothing inherently wrong with busyness, those of us who over-commit or over-extend ourselves potentially face exhaustion and burnout. Peace and Balance come from within and are unique to each of us. Peace and Balance can not be given to you, because you already have them inside. Look inside at what brings you Peace and live that, regardless of others wants for you.

Generally, over a long period of time, even this exception will take on a balanced rhythm; we all go through times when we take more and times when we give more.

However, there are also relationships in which the balance has always felt one-sided. You may have a friend whom you like, but you have begun to notice that the conversation is always about their life and their problems and never about yours. You may also have a friend who seems to require an inordinate amount of Read more
