Dr. Rob’s Travel Note, Paris, France, December 30th, 2009

Dr. Rob in Paris:
Wow, what amazing art and life Paris shares with the world. The people and the place are teaming with the creation and beauty of the love and exploration of life. And in the impressionists artistic work I see that they exemplify the movement to a new freshness of viewing nature. And beginning with Monet, and his painting of Le Havre harbor, Impression, Sunrise in 1873; the name was given to a circle of artists and art form. In addition to Monet, was Morisot, Degas, Cezanne, Guillaumin, Pissaro, Renoir, Sisley. They rebelled against the official Salon system, while these artists fought for new pictorial freedom. After much torment, isolation and for some destitution, they persevered to bring a spectacular new art movement. At the Musee Marmottan, their art along with many others is spectacularly showcased to inspire the impressionist in all of us. A great mansion belonging to Jules Marmottan and his son Paul, bequeathed his home to the Academie des Beaux-Arts. With theirs and others generous financial and artistic donations, along with the patrons of the arts, it has been made possible to continue to inspire and share the impressionists vision of the light. Dr. Rob’s 12 minute meditation;
Artist thee is the beauty I see
In with the nose and hold in the beauty of thee
The energy of HE, is in all of me and then to all of thee, this is what I breathe
A breath with a smile, energy of HE
It is in all of thee and the artist is me
I walk in the garden of nature’s life
And nature provides the pallet so expansive and bright
Love all that he gives to thee
I see the garden is inside of me and thee
A simple thing of HE and me
Tai chi and the music is in thee
The artist thee, beauty is from HE
A breath in and a smile out
All wanted thoughts of he and of me
This is what I be, love all that I see
Namaste,

Dr. Rob On My Mind, AKA Travel Log, December 29th, 2009
December 29, 2009 by Dr. Rob

Dr. Rob on my mind, AKA travel log;
Ah yes, to throw mud in life, this is what we are here to do. To express our inner souls and nature of us. We are nature as created by the energy of the Universe and now we become the creators of ART. Nature is and makes up the material of our human creations. We are the creators of things and everything we create becomes some form of art. The Centre Pompidou is an amazing place of creativity and exploration of the new and different. Man (men and women), are collectively the creators of art. These things, elements taken from nature and reconfigured into something else, all become, and are, art. Now I see that this something else that becomes art, may not always be seen as this. For form is the doing and content the thinking. For art is the creation of your life, and all of the things that you create in life are of the artist thee. Read more

April 27, 2009 by Teresa Vitale

Wonderful things are happening in Central, NY. A new magazine has been launched called CNY Home & Garden. I have been fortunate to be selected to be featured on there cover for the May issue and also on the last page. I am so honored to be in such great company. The magazine is filled with accurate and informative stories on life and living, all written by local pros’. And best of all it is Free! The magazine is available on line and also at: Liverpool area shops, Libraries, some Wegmans, some Price Choppers, some hair salons, The Eggplant (restaurant off Erie Blvd. in Syracuse), Baldwinsville Elementary teachers lounge, Syracuse University and at Skaneateles Artisans.
The Last Leaf:
There’s something poetic about homes and gardens. Would a home and garden magazine be complete without a poem or an artisan’s touch? This month brings a personal look at one of Central New York’s finest faux painters, Teresa Vitale and her designs. For Teresa, the room shown above was one of the most exciting and satisfying of her many works of art.
Teresa:
“I have been a self taught artist for over 20 years. For me, art is life and life is art. I grew up in Porto Empedocle in Sicily, where art was and is a way of life. Now I live in a 156-year-old farm house which feeds me with inspiration each and every day.” Click here to read the entire article.

Connecting art and ecology
January 30, 2009 by Editor

Speak to me about art and I will learn more about you. Nature is also like that. When you look deeply into the natural world you look deeply into yourself — when you describe nature, you describe yourself. –Adam Wolpert
Connecting Art and Ecology:
“There is an unmistakable link between art and ecology. Art is a process of discovering connections both within us and in the outside world. Ecology is the study of interactions among living beings and their environment. So both are really the study of relationships. Read more

Fingerlakes Artists’ work on display in the White House
December 31, 2008 by Christine Briel

-I came across the article below in an e-newsletter from Life in the Finger Lakes Magazine. Our very own Holly Knott created the ornament above on the right. Read about where it ended up this past Christmas. Congratulations Holly!!!
Several area artists were selected to decorate ornaments for the White House Christmas Tree by Central New York Representatives to the U.S. House. As Bob Price reported in the December 14 Steuben Courier-Advocate, John R. “Randy” Kuhl Jr. asked Hammondsport artist Bob MaGee to create an ornament for the 29th Congressional District. Congressman James T. Walsh similarly honored Marcellus artist Holly Knott, asking her to represent the State’s 25th District.
A few weeks after accepting the requests, each artist received a spherical plastic ornament in the mail, about six inches in diameter, with instructions from the White House, including deadlines for returning the completed work, the stipulation that the ornament be visible from above and below Read more
