Affirmations are affirming words that when said over and over can shift our subconscious mind. It’s a great way to let go of limiting beliefs. We can also use affirmations during times of stress or loss to help us move into a positive state of mind.
For the coming week let’s try on some affirmations for size. I have listed several below, so take your pick or make up your own. If you make up your own be sure to start with ‘I am’, ‘it is’ or ‘my’ so that you can keep it in present tense. You don’t want to affirm that you will have something in the future or it will always stay in the future.
Also, be sure that you don’t pick an affirmation you are not able to believe at all. It must have some truth to it or you won’t stick with it. Pick something just a bit above where you are and once you use it for a time and believe it completely, then pick another affirmation a bit higher.
Pick the affirmation that resonates with you, one that you want to aspire to. Say it several times a day. Say it out loud if at all possible. Your voice gives it power. At the very least repeat it to yourself silently.
Keep the affirmation as short as possible. Your subconscious does not know how to process information. It simply believes what it hears over and over. Remember when you were in school and the kids called you fat, skinny, ugly, pretty, smart, stupid…your subconscious heard it so much it went into believing it. It did not have to be true. The subconscious understands…data in…data out, like a computer. It does not reason or try to figure things out.
Write your chosen affirmation on past-it notes and pin it up everywhere. From computer, to bathroom mirror, to the steering wheel of your card…everywhere, so you won’t forget to say it often. You cannot over do it!

“I completely let go now of the fear of ______.”
“I am listening to inner guidance and trusting my own intuition.”
“I am able to easily share my abundance with others.”
“I am saving money for my secure future.”
“I celebrate my life with gratitude.”
“I am manifesting my ideal partner.”
“My body is strong and healthy.”
“I am able to let go of what no longer serves me.”
“It is time to let my light shine. The world needs what I have to offer.”
Have fun! Using affirmations should leave you feeling energized and joyful. If not, chose a different affirmation.
