A Fundraiser to benefit John McCarthy in his fight to beat Leukemia

John McCarthy is a graduate of West Genesee and Cortland State where he excelled in lacrosse and life.
John was a key defensive player on the 1983 WG New York State championship team. He went on to
be a four-year starter at Cortland State and was named team captain and All American in his senior year.

John works for Sara Lee, where he is a Director of Sales for the South East region and resides in
Orlando, Florida with his wife Anne (also a WG grad) and three children, Jake, Kelly and David.

Stricken with a rare form of leukemia called AML, he recently received a bone marrow transplant and is
fighting this disease at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

The purpose of MacPack is to raise money and awareness, and to help support John and his family.
Once John is released from the hospital he will need to spend several months in an apartment located
near the Moffitt Center to continue his treatments.
