Dr. Rob On My Mind, February 5, 2010

Sharing thought is amazing and fun, yet often a challenging exploration of life. Where to start is often the hang up for me and learning the best ways to begin has been my goal, mission and journey. Also, what to write about and where do the thoughts come from continue to push me. Years ago my daughter Pilar and I watched an inspiring and touching movie, with Sean Connery, Finding Forrester. He used the line, “Punch the keys for gods sake”, to motivate Rob Brown. I was inspired to use these words to push and motivate Pilar (as if she really needed it)  in her  early exploration of typing and use of the computer. She now is a prolific writer and typist simply due to practice, punching the keys, and starting somewhere. The trick of the Universe is to start, and as you move forward the energy flows and something else will come. And with this something else we learn and grow new neurons and new paths of life. Remember that this is the journey and there is no wrong way or bad outcome. It is all part of the Universal energy moving us forward, creating.

As we read and write more and more, share and share every day, we recognize that we are all the creative one. The creative one is in you and me, and with the sharing of music, dance, painting, writing and more, we are simply doing what the Universe has intended. And with practice, which must start somewhere, we all learn and grow. The more you do, the more you get is a reality. For doing is practicing and the concept of failing is simply an outcome of doing enough stuff. If you fail 9 of 10 times you are likely more successful than most in the Universe. Thus the more you get, is all possible anytime and anywhere by simply doing enough stuff. Desire and will is the energy pushing us to create and do. No fear and no attachment to the outcome. Enjoy each and every moment, each and every experience. We are all one and the same and the possibilities are all expansive.

Since we are only what we think we are and we can only change what we think, the gift of the Universe is within each of us. Changing your thoughts is the easiest of things to do. Now why would anyone think themselves anything but beautiful and amazing. But what we do is think less of ourselves and the impossibilities of things. This is all we are in life, a thought of ourselves. If you would think of yourself as you would wish to be, this is the start to being what you desire. Of having what you desire. Yet, in fact, you are already the gift and beauty of the Universe. The thoughts and ideas are all within. It is all made up and  simply coming from the ethos and expansive knowledge of the Universe.

Finally, I arrived to my office this morning listening to thoughts from Voltaire, a French philosopher and prolific writer. I am energized and motivated by the words of others, and reading and listening to the creators of thought. This is the start, and adding smart to my own thoughts of the Universe. And with the knowledge of others we are growing and expanding our (the) Universe.
