Dr. Rob On My Mind, February 26, 2010
A great drive to work this morning, lots of beautiful fluffy snow. The roads a great challenge yet by keeping my vision on where I wanted to go, this kept me out of the ditch. Now I have been there before and it was all good, but not my destination today. I made it to the office, albeit a challenge, I love the snow. I simply took my time and moved forward, not looking at the ditch. Many a calls this morning of those that were unable to make it out of the driveway, and some in ditches. Some suggested simply staying home and I was excited to give the opportunity to do something different, work from home. Yes, now with the use of the internet, and electronic medical records, we can do many tasks from the comfort of our own home, pajamas as the dress of the day. No guilt since we are all blessed with this great snow covered day and we simply need to enjoy where ever and whatever it is.
For the fire of life is in the desires that give us the energy to move forward and be the creators of life. We are all here as the creators and the fires are built within. It is our journey of life that creates the doings and the interactions for the beauty that we share with one another. When the weather kicks us and tells us to slow down, the key is to keep the fire of desire alive and simply move at the weather’s pace. A great snowboarding day and also a day to get out on your snowmobile, or simply hunker down by the fire with a good book. Whatever it is, enjoy it within. You must foster love for the gifts are in all things. Simply take a breath and think it is all good and beautiful.
My thanks to Hairtique Salon and Day Spa for the art opening and fundraiser for the Laker Limo. A great success with great people connections. Out in the snow storm, which did not keep the evening down. It may have actually made it more fun in that the work to get there was a bit more than usual, giving us a sense of accomplishment. Bravery in the face of grave danger, if you survive it makes you feel even braver. Not that the getting there was terribly dangerous, the snow plows did a great job. Can’t wait to hear how my friend Martin did on his snowmobile run to 1820’s House for dinner. We do like to take chances and this is all based on the desire within. That which is more valuable is often harder to obtain. I always come back to the words, it is all easy, then this is what it becomes. The event raised nearly $2000 for the Laker Limo service and brought many great energies together, inspiring us all to keep the fire, the inner light burning and bright. My love to all and have an exceptionally great day, keep the smile within and the light will continue to shine despite any bumps you may feel. Love, Dr. Rob
The Breath of the Universe: The Wind
February 26, 2010 by Editor
We can connect ourselves with a basic force of nature by focusing on the essential element of air during a wind meditation. We begin by centering ourselves on our breath. We inhale the life-giving force, feeling it fill us, and then releasing it into the world to let our breath mingle with the breath of nature. If we cannot feel the wind right now, we can recall times when the wind has sent us gifts of caresses on bare skin, ruffling our clothes and playing with our hair. We can evoke sounds carried on the wind, maybe laughter or song, or perhaps just the wind’s own whispers through the trees or across the landscape of our ears. We may summon up an image of falling flowers or leaves from above, vivid colors set free with the wind’s encouragement. We may envision birds drifting on unseen currents with wings unbent, or flags and banners unfurled in the breeze. The scent of a sea breeze may come to mind, or the aromas of freshly baked treats or fragrant blooms that reach us from a distance.
As these memories enliven our senses, we are feeling the vital force that surrounds and animates us. We can look to the trees to sway in time with nature’s rhythm. Just as we can be soothed by the wind, we know that nature has great power. In a rush it can block out all sound, leaving us with only the beating of our hearts.
Wind can even make the inanimate dance and whirl gracefully. With a gentle sigh, the wind has carried sailors to faraway lands and balloons to great heights above. We can entrust the wind to carry our voices and best wishes out into the world, knowing it will be carried to its perfect destination. Releasing these precious offerings to its care, we remember that nature’s power is as close as our breath, and we breathe deeply once again before returning to the world around us.

The breath fills thy destination
In with the breath, a smile within
As I walk the garden, of life again
A blessing I see all in thee
Love all that you be
In with the breath, a smile within
Vibrations touch each and every cell of me
A gift of life is all within
A blessing and love is deep within
All wanted thoughts vibrate and touch me
In with the breath, a smile within
The light is thy destination and fed with the breath

The Iditarod and Autism
February 26, 2010 by Christine Briel

As an owner of Siberian Huskies, I’ve followed the Iditarod Races for many years. This year they’ve shared the beautiful story below in their recent newsletter as the Last Great Race approaches soon. ~Chris
Logan Erickson is a nine year boy diagnosed with Autism who lives in Unalakleet Alaska, a community that is full of wonderful people who have a deep appreciation for the Iditarod. Jeff and Donna Erickson, Logan’s mother and father, have five boys and Logan is the youngest member of the family. This fall Iditarod musher, Dee Dee Jonrowe, was visiting Unalakleet. She brought with her a dog named “Mr. Miyagi.” Logan watched Mr. Miyagi with great interest. Then an amazing thing happened. Up until at day Logan had not spoken a single word. After Dee Dee left the Unalakleet Airport, Logan walked around the airport where his mother works and said, “Miyagi” several times. At first his mother did not recognize what he was saying but then she made the connection. That was a huge emotional breakthrough. Logan’s first word was the name of a loving dog!
Logan’s autism has developed to a point where he experiences problems sleeping and there are occasions when he wanders away. These are problems that service dogs can solve with warmth and affection. So that’s our goal… to raise $13,500.00 to obtain a service dog for Logan. Logan’s family and his community believes that a service dog will greatly enhance his life by providing him with the motivation to communicate and provide him with independence.

Logan is pictured above with his Mom.
2004 Iditarod Champion Mitch Seavey’s IditaRider has graciously donated her IditaRide to help raise the funds for Logan’s service dog. Click here to find out more about this very special opportunity to take the ride of a lifetime with an Iditarod Champion for a very special cause. Triune Radio Event! TRIUNESpirituality ~ The New Reality
February 25, 2010 by Sheila Applegate
With hosts: Sheila Applegate, Ken Stone, & Meagan O’Nan
Making Spirituality our new reality through Vision, Healing, and Integration
COMING MARCH 3rd
TRIUNE introduces spirituality as the new reality. We must be willing to look at every component of our spiritual selves and find a way to incorporate our dreams, passions, and desires into our “reality.” Through vision, we gain clarity that directs us toward our purpose on this earth. Through healing, we experience a deeper acceptance of who we are and the path we are walking. And through integration, we bring all of these components together in practical, everyday steps, making heaven on earth a reality.
Sheila, Ken, and Meagan, a visionary trio, have been brought together by Spirit as TRIUNE to bring forward to the world this new idea of embodying vision, healing, and integration. They do this not only with their dynamic message but by their personification of these three concepts as visionary, healer, and integration coach. TRIUNE represents the spirituality of NOW. By living compassionately from their authentic selves, Sheila, Ken, and Meagan offer humanity tools to make this happen.
Vision: Sheila Applegate , MSW, internationally renowned spiritual seer, healer and teacher, is a high-level intuitive and clairvoyant who describes guides, people, and situations with astonishing detail and accuracy. She has the gift of being able to clearly see the guides, angels, and ascended masters of her clients and facilitates communication between them and her clients, lovingly providing information about their spiritual progress, relationships, and other practical, everyday issues from a higher perspective.
Healing: Ken Stone, intuitive and spiritual healer, brings a rare and powerful gift to the world through his ability to allow Spirit to heal others through him. Ken has been called by Spirit in a direct and powerful way to work with people both as individuals and in groups to “tune” them in to their more natural, spiritually aligned state. He works at a deeply intuitive level, channeling healing differently for each person he works with.
Integration: Meagan O’Nan, MA, MS, pioneer in the field of personal integration coaching, consciously directs her clients towards bringing together the ethereal world of Spirit and the grounded realities of everyday life. Author of the award-winning “Creating Your Heaven on Earth,” Meagan’s passion is to help people commit their dreams to reality in steps that are sensible, practical, and real for them. She encourages her clients to embrace their own power and pushes them gently and yet firmly to employ their spiritual strengths in creating the reality of their dreams.

Words Have Weight: Feeling Our Words
February 25, 2010 by Editor
Words carry energy and this gives language its power and its potential to heal or hurt. Most of us can remember a time that someone sent a word our way, and it stuck with us. It may have been the first time we received a truly accurate compliment, or the time a friend or sibling called us a name, but either way it stuck. This experience reminds us that what we say has weight and power and that being conscious means being aware of how we use words.
The more conscious we become, the more we deepen our relationship to the words we use so that we speak from a place of actually feeling what we are saying. We begin to recognize that words are not abstract, disconnected entities used only to convey meaning; they are powerful transmitters of feeling. For the next few days, you might want to practice noticing how the words you say and hear affect your body and your emotional state. Notice how the different communication styles of the people in your life make you feel. Also, watch closely to see how your own words come out and what affect they have on the people around you.
You may notice that when we speak quickly, without thinking, or rush to get our ideas across, our words don’t carry the same power as when we speak slowly and confidently, allowing those receiving our words time and space to take them in. When we carefully listen to others before we speak, our words have more integrity, and when we take time to center ourselves before speaking, we truly begin to harness the power of speech. Then our words can be intelligent messengers of healing and light, transmitting deep and positive feelings to those who receive them.
