Surrender To That Inner Voice
November 30, 2009 by Editor

I had been feeling a bit blue and alone, so I thought I’d treat myself to something I wanted. I went to the grocery store to pick up some items I needed to make some chili bean soup. I had a hankering for it and felt like I’d treat myself to something I wanted. I could almost taste the soup. I had the beans the onions, the ground beef, my mouth was watering.
Then out of nowhere a thought of my sister came to mind. We had spoken via email just the day before. She told me that she and my 13-month-old nephew had been battling a virus all week and feeling pretty tired. As I thought of this, I thought that I should bring something over for dinner. She loves my Mexican meatball soup (Albondigas), but I wanted Chili soup, and so the battle within began. I already had everything for the bean soup and I didn’t have my recipe for the albondigas soup. I struggled trying to run away from that little voice, but it was in every aisle!
I brought the cart I was pushing to a halt, and surrendered. See, I struggle so with being selfish, but God blesses me with so many opportunities to be rid of it, and this was one. Read more

Dr. Rob’s 12 Minute Meditation, November 30th, 2009
November 30, 2009 by Dr. Rob
Dr. Rob’s 12 minute meditation;
This is how is start the day
With the breath and mantra of the day
A positive thought, and with the breath I be
In with the nose, deep and full
I love all that I see and be
The light comes in with thee
Touching each and every cell of you
Meditative music flowing all through me
This day I listened to Snatam Kaur
The light and the energy of music and love
All flowing and enlightening me
The beauty of life and love is all I see
The breath touches each and every cell of me
Vibrating energy flowing to all of thee
Walking in the garden touching the light from thee
In one and out with the smile
This is the light of you and thee
Blessings to all I see and be

Dr. Rob On My Mind, November 30th, 2009
November 30, 2009 by Dr. Rob

Dr. Rob on my mind;
Some thoughts on my mind, I choose to share this day, another happy and amazing day. For life is created in our thoughts of the things and events that we come in contact with. There are a multitude of events in life we label as good or as bad, depending on our upbringing, experiences and ultimately all from our thought. Mother Nature does have a plan; somehow all of this is what was, is and will be, created by the great energy of the Universe. I also see this all in the now, for this moment is the gift. And all of the bumps, the swells, are the gifts of life. We are hunting for smooth sailing, and it is in fact, all smooth sailing. The swells of the ocean and the bumps of the land are joys of life and the teachers for you and me. God does have a plan and the so called struggles in the day are good and a gift when you think they are. And in the thinking that they are a gift, rather than the terrible unfortunate event, the electro molecular energy of the brain and the body create harmony in the universe, thus growth and evolution. Where the terrible and unfortunate thoughts create chaos and disharmony. Read more

Finding Unqualified Happiness
November 27, 2009 by Editor

Since most of our experiences are rooted in cause and effect, we naturally want to justify our contentment. We envision grand circumstances, stating that if only we could achieve this goal or obtain that possession, we would finally be in a position to attain happiness. As a result, satisfaction is always just out of reach and the very notion of grabbing hold of it seems like nothing more than a pipe dream. But the truth is that sincere contentment and fulfillment are never wholly the result of external events or situations. Though life’s joyful moments can ignite the spark of contentment within us, that spark is fueled by serenity long established in our souls. When we forget this, it is easy to become stuck in “if only” patterns of thought. If we concentrate on the natural serenity that exists within us, however, we can move forward unimpeded by disappointment. Read more
Dr. Rob’s Pearl Onion Recipe

Here’s a delicious recipe that’s great for that special Holiday Dinner or any day of the year!
Pearl Onions – Creamed:
Ingredients:
- Pearl Onions–5 bags of pearl onions
- 1-2 sticks butter
- 2 bay leaves
- 1-2 tsp. Thyme
- 2-4 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1-2 cups of Riesling or sweet white wine
- cup heavy cream
- salt and/or pepper to taste
Directions:
Blanche onions for 3-5 minutes in boiling water, dump immediately into ice water then clip off ends of onions and peel off skin. In large skillet melt 1-2 sticks salted butter and then add bay leaves, thyme, chicken boullion cubes and mix in skillet over medium heat. Sautee onions in mixture for 30 minutes with 1-2 cups of riesling or sweet white wine, add crack pepper. Final preparation; reduce liquid until scant sauce remaining, add 1 cup of heavy cream and simmer for 5 minutes then serve.
**Be careful that you don’t cook it higher or longer than simmer because the cream will separate. You may adjust the amount of onions and butter as needed. Bon apetit!
Love,
Dr. Rob
