The Birth of An Angel

November 26, 2008 by Dr. Rob

Early in his teen, my son Carlo lost his life. He succumbed to Hodgkins Lymphoma which he fought courageously for 33 months. He died at tender age of 14. He was defeated: his body was totally consumed by the dreadful disease. But through his faith - a solid faith of a child - his spirit survived eternal death and was carried to heaven.

He left us in intense grief. I begged God for a sign to carry us through the days of immense sorrows. God was so generous. He gave us not one but plenty to hold on to:

  • the image of an angel formed from drips of the lighted candle during the wake. It is a shape of an angel captured in the act flight carrying my son.
  • the face the angel at the center of that angel image.
  • the big butterfly which visited us on 40th day of his death.
  • the perceivable face of my son etched on the wings of that big butterfly.
  • plenty of extraordinary events and unusual, puzzling coincidences the wake up to the 40th day of his death.

In the end, I realized that his life was not a tragic revelation of defeat: his story is a great triumph of faith against eternal death - a faith like a light that refused to die in the great darkness of his life.

I wrote a book titled ” THE BIRTH OF AN ANGEL”. I am giving them out for free here in the Philippines. I want to share the story of our struggles and his beautiful message to as many people as possible specially those who lost their loved ones:

“….as I was falling in the great abyss of darkness, a streak of light speeding from out of nowhere grasped me by the hand, an Angel lifted me up to glorious light of day, and the gates of heaven opened wide….”

“….look, see, believe its true, there is life thereafter….”

I am sure that through this web site it could be possible to share to as many people our amazing story.

I am not versed in using computers but I will ask someone later to help send some of the pictures in the book.

Dear Manual, thank you for sharing the story of your wonderful son, Carlo. The birth of an angel, the spirit of life. To see the darkness seems so often necessary before one can truly see the light. He truly is an angel in that he has and forever will share his positive and loving energy in the universe. To share and uplift others, and see the beautiful spirits in this life. The moments that each of us shares waking on this earth is short, yet life is eternal and Carlo is eternal to all. We all live and we all die. For the short moments of the universe are a blink. The eternal soul lives forever. The spirit and angel your son is, will be shared with others who will surely gain from the writings that you have shared. What ever we can do to help we are available. Love Dr Rob
