Hillary Clinton attends my clients ribbon cutting ceremony
September 26, 2008 by Yvonne Conte

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton joined Tig Gilliam, CEO, Adecco Group North America; Maggie Brooks, Monroe County Executive; and other Adecco executives, and local leaders at the ribbon-cutting to announce the opening of the new Adecco Shared Services Center in Rochester last Friday morning. Karen Walser, Regional Vice President was kind enough to invite me to attend. Adecco is a very good client of my company, Humor Advantage, Inc. Only 170 were invited and security was tight. Seated in the second row directly in front of the podium made this a very intimate meeting.
Senator Clinton played a key role in promoting Rochester as a prime site for the company to build the 13,000 square foot payroll processing hub. The company will create more than 200 area jobs by 2010.
“This is a great day and a winning enterprise for Rochester and Adecco,” said Senator Clinton. “In tough economic times like these, it is essential that we showcase the opportunities for growth that New York and Rochester have to offer both companies and employees. Adecco recognizes that there is an amazing talent pool and positive economic environment here in Rochester, and I am proud to have worked with them to help bring these new jobs to the area as they continue to build a strong partnership with New York.”
“Today’s opening would not have been possible without the foresight and outstanding leadership of Senator Clinton as well as all of the local state officials and Adecco colleagues who made this a reality, to bring more jobs to New York and to Rochester,” said Tig Gilliam, CEO, Adecco Group North America. “At Adecco, creating jobs is not new to us, it’s what we do every single day, but today is especially exciting because not only are we creating more jobs, but the Center will also allow us to continue to provide our clients and our associates with the absolute best customer service in the industry.”
After the speeches were completed Hillary came right to our group, shook hands and graciously stood for pictures. She talked with us so easily and we all said she felt just like one of the girls. We loved her! After our conversation she hugged us, smiled and was whisked away to the airport, headed to Kentucky to help her pal Obama.
