Quitting is not an option

September 17, 2008 by Laura Ponticello

Bunny Dimmel, an Auburn, New York native, recently on the Today show for the second time, shared her courageous journey of losing over two hundred pounds. Bunny threw away the excuses and found the determination to get healthy. Weighing in, close to 400 pounds, Bunny was diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, but what motivated her to lose the weight, were not health issues.

Married 20 yrs. Bunny’s husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given three months to live. He asked one thing of Bunny, “Promise me, you’ll lose the weight?” Bunny begged him to ask for anything, but not this request.  Bunny shared “I made a commitment with myself that I was not going to quit for 2 years, that quitting was not an option.”

The most amazing part of Bunny’s journey is the message, “Never, never, give up, even if you can’t get started making the change, keep it alive in your heart, keep thinking it every day, never believe you can’t do it. Eventually it is that same spirit that will come out of you and help you.”

I am happy to report that Bunny has just renewed 2 more years of “quitting is not an option”. For more information about Bunny’s amazing transformation and speaking engagements, see www.bunnydiet.com  Also, look for Bunny’s column in the Syracuse Post Standard.

I invite you to share your amazing stories, of Never Giving Up!
